American Women Quarters

2024 American Women Quarters: All Five Coins

Five American Women Quarters were issued in 2024: Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray, Hon. Patsy Takemoto Mink, Dr. Mary Edwards Walker, Celia Cruz and Zitkala-Ša. 1,680,800,000 were struck for circulation. The lowest mintage of the year is the Dr. Mary Edwards Walker quarter at 300,600,000 and the highest is the Hon. Patsy Takemoto Mink at 397,400,000. In circulated condition each is worth 25 cents.

Production fell sharply in the third year, to 1,680,800,000 across the five designs, and the 2024 coins turn up in change less often than the 2022 and 2023 issues. The Dr. Mary Edwards Walker quarter, at 300,600,000, was the lowest mintage in the series until the 2025 coins arrived.

2024 also produced the only fully cataloged doubled die in the program, the 2024-P Mary Edwards Walker Doubled Die Reverse (VDDR-001), and the coin most often mistaken for a separate issue, the Pauli Murray quarter that people call the "Hope quarter."

Mintage and rarity

The 2024 total of 1,680,800,000 is 21 percent of the program's 8,024,800,000 coins. Within the year, the Dr. Mary Edwards Walker quarter has the lowest mintage and the Hon. Patsy Takemoto Mink quarter the highest. The lowest single-mint issue is the 2024-P Dr. Mary Edwards Walker, at 141,200,000. None of these numbers make a circulated coin scarce in any practical sense; they decide which coin is hardest to find in change, not which one is valuable. See all 20 mintages and the key date.

The 2024 obverse

All five 2024 coins share one obverse: George Washington facing right, from Laura Gardin Fraser's 1931 design, with LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, the date 2024 and the mint mark. The mint mark is to the right of Washington's neck, below the date. P is Philadelphia and D is Denver; S, for San Francisco, appears only on coins sold to collectors.

Errors

Documented errors or varieties exist for and Dr. Mary Edwards Walker. Everything else sold as a 2024 American Women Quarter error is, in the cases checked, die wear, machine doubling or damage. The errors page has the full documented list and nine tests that separate an error from damage.

Proof sets, rolls and bags

The Mint sold each 2024 design to collectors in rolls and bags, and all five together in a clad proof set and a silver proof set. The San Francisco uncirculated coins were sold only in the three-roll sets. Sales figures are as reported by CoinNews on 21 October 2026.
